it's a very interesting article, and I agree with a lot of its points, but not with the claim that it's easy to eschew this tech. unless you're a strict free software user like me, odds are you're using software that you can't control and that auto-updates to the liking of its supplier, and you, the user who should control it, have no say over that. this sort of power is very likely to be used, and has often been used, to force feed LLMs into the useds. we might as well call it foAI gras.

The food we eat, clothes we wear, and every electronic device we touch may embody innumerable injuries to the world, and all this is inescapable. Eschewing AI is one thing that we can actually do to live out ethics that affirm values of human and environmental rights. It’s almost a gift! Just use a computer the same way you did three years ago!”
