     The modern information ecosystem is a mix of multiple overlapping catastrophes slowly -- and sometimes not so slowly -- degrading almost everything it touches. It's being propelled -- accidentally by some and intentionally by others -- by the profit motive, in my opinion.

     Yes and no.

     It’s true what you’ve written, but, at the same time, DOGE and others have dismantled key reporting agencies and disappeared important databases. HHS has also shut down important data collection endeavors.

     So there’s overload and malfeasance.
