   Heating does so a thousand times more (most ways of heating are very inefficient and directly produce CO2), yet no one is asking people to just not heat in winter.

   Also stop breathing, that also contributes to climate change.

     @wiert also if the grid provides renewable energy or nuclear there’s no climate impact

     fwiw we have solar on the roof which not provides energy (for AC and other things), it also shades the house :)

     @thomasfuchs if one can power air conditioning from solar panels, the often there is no extra electricity usage needed from the grid.
