     @thomasfuchs oh, wow: so I was gonna assert that laserdiscs were dead by the time of DS9; but apparently they died ·during· release 😛 (I guess seasons 6 & 7 are just SOL)

     ok, according to at least 2 search results, DS9 was indeed also shot on film (as TNG was): so, if that film wasn't destroyed/lost, maybe in a better future we'll get a remaster…
