   @gsuberland @Lyle It sounds like the software is working correctly. The hardware is therefore crapping out.

   It could be that the switch got too warm, got a surge it couldn't handle, or perhaps is a victim of a random and extremely rare cosmic ray incident. If it's always the same IP, it might be that PC's NIC. Otherwise, I'd suspect the switch at this point.

     spent a while debugging why my computer can't reach certain IP addresses on my LAN.

     the problem randomly went away.

     I hate this.
