     @mbajur I think you can use ollama on mac, but I'd refrain from using it for your fediverse project because there is a lot of anti-ai sentiment on the fediverse

     @mbajur ah okay, just wanted to warn you.

     I mean, I'm not sure about self hosting, but there are people who do enjoy AI on the fediverse too, it just seems like most people are anti-ai when it comes to projects (they have lists to track them)

     @dansup it's more for commercial work, i keep AI away from my fediverse projects ;)

     Not really a fan of AI, I just don't want to be left behind jobless + don't want to support it by paying for a pro account. So looking for "ethical" alternatives.

     Btw - does anti-AI sentiment on the fedi also applies to self-hosted offline way of using it?

     You made Prismo before Lemmy, Kbin/Mbin and Piefed existed.

     We know your not some vibe coder.

     You pioneered the threadiverse, and I kinda hope you bring Prismo back because have you seen how all those projects lack a proper designer?

     You are a legend, and we really need a Prismo type project to attract normal people.

     @dansup oh wow that's a really nice of you to say that. I don't think i will ever bring prismo back as there are tons of other projects doing the same thing but better but i can't agree more that a lot of opensource projects needs a good designer support.

     I wish designers volounteer at times and to OS project owners to be open to that because a lot of times i see they just don't care and don't want to work on anything design related, even when a designer proposes something solid

     @mbajur Well you should really consider it, because a few of those projects are now dead due to developer burnout. You should see the numbers of MAU for them though, people love them and use them as much as Mastodon and Pixelfed.

     Regarding designers, yeah I'm lucky that a few have helped with Pixelfed, but you've always been an inspiration to me as a designer because Prismo was gorgeous and nothing like it exists still.
