Number of times the Bible mentions trans people in a positive or neutral light: 45

Number of times the Bible explicitly condemns people who seek gender transition: 0

Number of times the Bible mentions billionaires in a positive or neutral light: 0

Number of times the Bible explicitly condemns people who seek wealth: more than 2,000

Read into that what you will.

@Lana I am not aware of even a single trans person in the Bible (Eunuchs, who are mentioned, are neither FTM nor MTF, after all). Have I missed something?

But full ACK on the fact that the Bible, particularly the New Testament, is basically "leftist woke extremist", likely even "communist", according to "Conservatives".

Like, MAGA would have deported Jesus as an "illegal immigrant" and, worse, "anchor baby" from Egypt. Except, they'd probably have first deported his parents from Egypt - after all, they were asylum seekers on the run from Herod.

Also, Jesus knew quite many languages. Very likely at least some knowledge of Egyptian, Aramaic, Hebrew, Greek, Latin - probably I missed some. I bet learning that many languages (and thus also cultures) counts as "woke indoctrination" to today's "Conservatives"...

Regarding "sexual non-conformity" there is of course this: Jesus did condemn extramarital sex, however at the same time he set no punishment, but simply asked her to sin no more.

Which tells us all that sin or not sin is between us and God - and it is not up to others to perform judgement on God's behalf (see also "judge not", a phrase used multiple times) - particular if they are (like all of us) sinners too.

Given all this, I have no freaking ideas how MAGAs and other "Conservatives" can even touch a Bible.

@divVerent I was also wondering if @Lana made up those numbers.

I remember an analysis that mentioned one or two positive places, which are more about people born intersex, and zero anti-trans mentions.

Even finding 2000 anti-rich places could be hard, even though there are many in the New Testament for sure.

@Lana @divVerent Oh wow. Now you got me interested in reading the Bible (I‘m not Christian).

      It was not hyperbole.

@GreenSkyOverMe @Lana The 2000 was probably hyperbole, but there are _lots_. And even a clearly communist place in Acts 2:44-45.

Get one printed before 1946, which is when it was changed specifically to be more homophobic.

      Hey, did I fucking stutter?

There are 31,102 verses in the Bible, across all 66 books. About 2,300 of those mention money. Most of those are warnings about the sinful and corrupting nature of greed. An exact count isn't possible, because there will always be different interpretations of the specific intention of specific verses, but yes the 2,000+ figure is more than accurately supported across the whole of the Bible.

      @Lana
Come on. Bible does not talk about money on every page. You're exaggerating.
There are about 300 times the words "wealth/wealthy" and a bit less times (about 270) the word "money". You can check a bunch of translations online...

Well, I bet you don't care now your toot has been shared dozens of time and brought light on you, you won't acknowledge you're wrong ? Am I ?
