ABC should pick up all the folks who’ve left 60-minutes and start a new show that IS essentially 60-minutes. Same folks, run the same way, same setup, everything.
Screw y’all at CBS. Way to destroy the best news show on television.
Idiots.

@fahrni It's my thinking that the sooner these legacy outlets pass, the sooner whatever is coming next will develop. My hunch is that what develops will have learned the hard lessons of what led to these legacy outlets failing us.
@fahrni I want much the same. Also I think new voices are what's needed. At the moment YouTube seems to be the venue. If and when that changes who knows. But something is going to rise out of the chaos once everything all falls down.
@WarnerCrocker I like the idea of something new, but making another YouTube channel with a Nazi loving Substack isn't the answer. 🤣
What would you like to see? I want the stories. I want investigative reporting. I want hard hitting truth.
@fahrni concur
@WarnerCrocker I believe YouTube and Podcasts are more popular than traditional TV news and shows now.
All these traditional fogies need to get together with the younglings and form a new company that provides basic infrastructure that would give different up-and-coming orgs the means to do YouTube without YouTube.
An addition to the web, all open.
@fahrni I think sadly a lot more destruction has to happen before those who might have the resources to build something like this will respond to any call. At the moment fear rules too much for those with means.
@WarnerCrocker I wish I could sell that idea to someone with money who'd like to see it happen. There's so much already out there to build on.
@fahrni Wrote this after our conversation yesterday.

@WarnerCrocker Even with all the controversy surrounding WordPress they’ve been doing some great work lately.
I read somewhere they were working more closely with Ben Thompson on his Passport system for payments, but I can’t find it.
@fahrni Also on Medium.
@WarnerCrocker Did you post that anywhere else?
