   @malcircuit The entire techbro "AI" program is backwards like this. Displacing human agency, experience, enjoyment, etc. and relegating humans to doing grunt work for a system they don't even benefit from.

   The other way around is much more interesting: technology that does the grunt side, letting humans interact with and act upon the physical world even when our bodies are not up to it and without imposing physical harm or risk on them.

     My opposition to LLM "AI" systems is fundamentally a really simple question:

     *If the machine is going to do everything I value for me, what the fuck is the point of being alive?*

     I haven't heard an answer to this yet that's either satisfactory to me or seems likely to actually happen.
