Hhypothesis: Developers who came out of the #indieweb communities are conceptually more comfortable with the #agenticweb ideas, as basically they have been doing it for years.

#POSSE, which is the beating heart of all things indieweb, isn't LIKE agentic social and web publishing - it IS Agentic web and social publishing.

    PESOS is an acronym for Publish Elsewhere, Syndicate (to your) Own Site. It's a syndication model where publishing starts by posting to a 3rd party service, then using infrastructure (e.g. feeds, Micropub, webhooks) to create an archive copy on your site.

  @tchambers No. POSSE is about doing social interactions and blogging on your own terms. Agentic "AI" is about doing stuff on big corporation's terms. LLMs deskill you and bind you to corporations that don't care about copyright, human rights, creative self expression & the environment. This is the opposite of what the IndieWeb & indie web stand for.

  @tchambers I’m on the PESOS camp and yeah, I think having to roll out things on your own opens up the mind to make use of anything even if scrappy.
  A few weeks ago I rolled out my own system to automatically translate my posts to syndicate a translated RSS feed, and do I appreciate open weight models!
