     Now you have to deal with viral tiktoks teaching them everything they can do to fuck with a teacher.
     On top of having to deal with any viral memes that can derail the whole class upon mention.

     I have a cousin in law who was a teacher for 2 years.
     He went back to school and finished med school after that experience.

     @Spooke @deprecated_ii @Rocket You don't need any electrical engineering experience to install free SIP software on a device to make it by default send SMS's and calls and nothing else (there would be no problems with kids who could work out how to install other free software, installing free software).
     
     But freedom respecting communication devices are not allowed - rather the devices must be tracking and spying devices with addictive proprietary software.

     @deprecated_ii Discipline is basically not allowed. You can send a kid to the principal or counselor and they will talk to the kid. They won't do shit. They also don't separate kids by ability. Even in a big school with three or more classes per grade, the kids are spread out. You have to accommodate the fast learners and the slower learners in the same classroom. Which makes the problem behavior kids even worse. The whole system is setup to fail now. The solutions are easy but no one will do them because they are "not fair." Of course no one gives one second of thought to the kids who are smart and don't disrupt classrooms who are being denied an education. Homeschool is increasingly popular for a reason.

     @Rocket @deprecated_ii Unironically if someone was in electrical engineering and whatnot and had the resources to just make a cheap dumb phone.
     You could probably make an absolute killing by getting a school board to ban all cellphones except for your mandated dumb phone that can only do talk and text, if parents wanted to be able to communicate with their kids while at school.
     Since I believe schools are starting to look for a smartphone ban on top of removing laptops from the curriculum.
