   "Mastodon sucks." Every last bit of Fedi is built by members of your community trying to provide a space to people for free, often at great expense to themselves. This isn't some social network we just rolled up and started using, we built it. I wish more people understood that before they slam it. :corgi_sad:

Not only in features, but hot damn does it take a lot of resources compared to its alternatives.provide a space to people for freeFunnily enough, the Mastodon devs are actually paid! The EU is pouring cash into it, which makes it even more ironic when you realize Mastodon is lagging on basic features (formatting, post length adjustment, quote-tooting).we built it.Well... Mastodon is not really what "built" the Fediverse. The Fediverse has existed for quite some time, and to be fair, I quite enjoyed having a space for people with a free software mindset. I don't think "mass adoption" is what we should strive for per se, there's nothing wrong with having spaces with a purpose and trying to keep it that way.
