   I get the importance of establishing a community for the sake of community safety and early warnings, but publishing a list of people that you have successfully confirmed to be from or otherwise have heritage in Gaza is an incredibly bad operation security practice.
   
   Please consider keeping sensitive information such as this behind a portal. Oauth can be used to allow verified users to authenticate through their fediverse account for access.
   
   As things currently stand, the resource you've created with good intentions is currently fair game for Mossad to use in profiling.

     @Saorsa @gazaverified @casey @rania40 @saja @sharifgaza All those accounts are public and Israel already has fine grained surveillance data spanning decades on every Palestinian.

     This is a means for people who are using the fediverse as one of their last lifelines to get support from the outside world without being dismissed as fake/scammers.

     If that is indeed the case then I can't fault people for making the best out of a bad situation. I still maintain however that it is best to air on the side of caution with such things.
     
     The less a government has to prosecute you with, the better.

     Israel doesn't need any incriminating data to arbitrarily detain a Palestinian. Of about 9,000 people being detained by Israel 3,300 are held without charges in something termed administrative detention. Being a Palestinian means you have very little or no rights in the occupied land of #Palestine. It's not a democracy, but a dystopia where feral rape gangs in IDF uniforms roam prisons picking out their prey with legal impunity. #Palestine
