Soon, many users & the media will start calling the "Mastodon Network" the "Tumblr/Mastodon Network" (apologies to @gargron)
Most importantly, the combination of Tumblr with Mastodon creates for us the ultimate & best Twitter alternative, Batman & Robin.
Tumblr adopting #ActivityPub cuts both ways for the #Fediverse. It makes it easy for people already in the Fediverse to interact with those belonging to Tumblr, and it also makes it possible for those that are on Tumblr to migrate away from it.
@kino@Gargron@admin I’d just like to interject for a moment. What you’re refering to as Mastodon, is in fact, Tumblr/Mastodon, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, Tumblr plus Mastodon. Mastodon is not an social network unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning autism network made useful by pronouns, purity spirals, and unhinged, psychotic screaming comprising a full social network as defined by Eugen.
@admin@mastodon.tech It makes it easy for people already in the Fediverse to interact with those belonging to TumblrWe didn't ask for this. Nobody here wanted this. @gargron@mastodon.social
@kino@admin@Gargron One either wants a server free of fragile Newspeak fanatics, or you’re a fanatic who wants a bubble of virtue and idiocy. Help keep our timelines free of Silly Newspeak.
I have a feeling their’s brilliance in your statement Thomas but I didn’t fully understand if you could kindly explain?
A lot of creators use social media as cheap way to advertise their content (journalists for example). Those are the people that bring value to a community. For those people size is literally the number one factor on whether to use a new social network, because they want to be able to reach as many people as possible. This is why I think the new Tumblr/Mastodon Network is overwhelmingly good for the Fediverse ?

@admin@kino@Gargron You’re obviously right. Federated servers seeking value, forming a Tumblr/Mastodon Network, is an overwhelmingly good idea for cheap journalists. Furthermore, it’s good for the server operators. For maximum success, the servers had best reflect the core values of the marketplace for cheap creators.
