@ninafromcanadaeh Now this is interesting. Up to now, the BBC was more likely to run a story about how these poor LGBTQIA+ etc folx were being denied help because of their marginalised status, than expose a scam done in the name of the alphabet soup. Willing to bet that the *legal advisors* are paid for through some NGO (ha!) or charity/industrial complex organisation under the ECHR funded by taxpayers. Nice work if you can get it. This could be a limited hangout; the BBC *reporting* it is a bid to claim journalistic integrity, while the story will generate the usual temporary outrage until the next one, then back to business as usual. Insulting our intelligence while spaffing our money is part of the fun. Let's see.
@KeepTakingTheSoma@ninafromcanadaeh Since Starmer took up the reins, the costs of quangos to taxpayers doubled from TWO HUNDRED BILLION POUNDS TO FOUR HUNDRED BILLIONS POUNDS. That's a whole lot of Charity Industrial Complex. I was very surprised that in there are "NHS TRUSTS".....
@Sherri_Ingrey@ninafromcanadaeh Quangos have been around for a while and were used to give jobs to cronies. Since Cameron was PM, they have expanded. They're the UKs version of USAID and play hostage puppies to keep the cash flowing.
@KeepTakingTheSoma@ninafromcanadaeh Of course they were. All the "Trusts" "Foundations", the UN, WHO, WEF etc are quangos. If you want to know about the US ones you just have to check Influence Watch
