     Trumps has ordered the US navy to interdict any ship that has paid the Iranian Hormuz toll, which implies they will board/seize Chinese ships in international waters

     Threatening genocide didn't work, but I guess he thinks threatening WW3 by dragging China into the conflict will be better.
