   📽️ 🎞️ Open question: if I book a cinema screen to watch a film with all my friends for my birthday this year, what should it be?

   I'd like it to be a Chinese movie, that I haven't seen on a big screen, that a general (nerdy) audience will enjoy even if they're not super into Chinese culture.

   It should also be something I can download or get a DVD of, with EN and/or DE subtitles, but that's an implementation detail. :)

     @villainousfriend oh yeah it's pretty dark and there are parts that I struggle with. i love it but it does seem like it would be too heavy for what you have in mind

     @lookitmychicken ohh, I'm torn on this one—on the one hand I desperately want to watch it on a big screen, and it would be fun to make my Yibo-hater Mandarin teacher watch it, but on the other I feel like it might be too thematically dark for a general group. 😕 Ideally I want something fun that we can all chat about at the pub afterwards, I think.

     Maybe I'll get a smaller group together and do a Hidden Blade showing another time!
