   @carolannie I agree....and as the owner of a 0.5 acre suburban Massachusetts lawn that I would like to rewild, I find it very hard to find a simple opinionated solution without spending thousands on landscape architects or dozens of hours of research.

   Native plants are the domain of botanists, school science projects, or the 1% who can afford (I was quoted $40k to $60k, American money) a landscape architect.
   I went as far as reading "prairie up" and got species lists, for the Midwest.

   The local native plants nursery people couldn't be friendlier, but if I ask them for a rewilding kit they get analysis paralysis.
   I'm highly motivated and not completely poor, but anyone else would make a bee line for Lowe's pick up a bag of grass seed and get on with their day.

     Native Plants Are the Foundation, Not the Finish Line
     Native plants matter because ecosystems are built from relationships, not individual species. Most insects, birds, and other wildlife cannot survive on generic greenery. They depend on specific native plants to feed, reproduce, and complete their life cycles.

     When those plants are missing, the food web collapses quietly. The yard may still look full, but it becomes functionally hollow. Few insects. Fewer birds. Little resilience.

     This site looks beyond plant lists. We focus on how native plants interact with soil, insects, predators, and structure to create habitats that actually work. Even small properties can support complete ecological systems when they are built with function in mind.
