@faraiwe@mstdn.social I use a block of wood at my shop. An old tire is probably a better idea actually.
@SuperDicq notice that. even at the highest tech facilities, they still use an old tire as safeguard on an engine hoist =D
@SuperDicq ooh, also.

@faraiwe@mstdn.social I only have Japanese 4 cylinders.
@SuperDicq ::stands up, places hand over heart::
It's a sacred tradition.
Works fairly well, because usually the tire rate corresponds to the engine size. It starts becoming not such a good idea when you hit Big Honking Murican V8s, unless you are going for *serious* M/T dozen-ply tires, etc.
@faraiwe@mstdn.social @nezuko_2000@weird.autos Yeah if you're ever in Japan I highly recommend going to the Mazda museum. It is completely free entry as long as you book a tour in advance.
On top of the amazing museum collection that they have, which of course has every notable car Mazda ever made including motorsport legends like the famous 787B, you also get to see cars being assembled in the factory.
@SuperDicq @nezuko_2000 Nice.
Mazda had some of the hottest, weirdest hot wheels of the 80s and 90s.
RX-7 has a special spot in my wheeled fap material, and the Miata (Roadster) - 2nd or 3rd gen - is one of my top ten fave zippy things on wheels.
F-R or R-R supremacy, forever.
@faraiwe@mstdn.social @nezuko_2000@weird.autos When I was in Japan I visited the Mazda museum at the Mazda plant in Hiroshima. That was also really good and sort of similar to this.
@nezuko_2000@weird.autos @faraiwe@mstdn.social Cool. I will save that for things to do on a future Japan trip
@SuperDicq @faraiwe I've never been to Mazda Museum because it's far from my home. I'm jealous.
If you visit Hiroshima, I highly recommend tvisiting Fukuyama Auto & Clock Museum.

There are tons of rare classic cars, buses, trucks and clocks.
I think it is one of the creaziest car museum in Japan.
