   @sarajw @georgemonbiot.bsky.social I am very concerned about the talk of bombing oil fields or setting them on fire. The burning of the Kuwaiti oilfields in the first Gulf War caused 100-400 megatonnes of CO2 eq emissions -- the equivalent of the annual GHG emissions of a medium-sized country. We need to keep that oil in the ground, not burn it into the atmosphere.

     Energy is not at all scarce, just *that* kind is.
