@Inginsub @hazlin i tried an experiment where i had control bound to HOLDING capslock but escape bound to tapping it. It worked shockingly well ergonomically on linux but was ultimately too much of a pain to make work right on windows

@hazlin @RustyCrab I actually think it's a good idea, maybe I'll try it. I still need to decide where I want to move caps lock though, because I use it a lot

@hazlin @Inginsub control used to be where capslock currently is when vim was invented https://gitlab.com/interception/linux/plugins/caps2esc

@hazlin @Inginsub btw interception tools is the only way ive ever gotten key remapping to work right on linux. Every other method intermittently fails or doesnt work in certain programs

@Inginsub @RustyCrab @hazlin for me caps lock on escape was good enough for me and i use it a fair amount, ive seen variants like shift+capslock or ctrl-capslock for real capslock too but havent tried them

@RustyCrab @Inginsub @hazlin for windows i wanna say autohotkey or dual-key-remap should be able to enable the double mapping but it conflicts with powertoys (inb4 gaysass name) if you are using that for remappings. i would have tried to use those, but work doesnt allow either of those two programs so i have to make do with single remappings per key

@karna @Inginsub @hazlin i did it somewhat successfully with autohotkey but its a big pain in the ass. I had to have the script handle every single individual key to get it to work right

I love autohotkeys. And, have always wished for a complete tool like that for linux.
