   @pre Mm, food for thought. But it depends on whether AP is turned on for all Tumblr users or only those who ask for it. It also depends on whether Tumblr does something to make the rest of Fedi defederate from it, such as injecting adverts.

     If the fediverse is an elephant then #Tumblr is a whale. A whole pod of whales.

     Tumblr has 200 blogs for every current Fedi account.

     If they turn on activitypub there will be no need to look at instance names because it'll be statistically unlikely to be anything to Tumblr.

     Worse than all email being Gmail.
