   @jkirkendall I can only imagine how odd it must be to read the news about a place you know so well. And infuriating to read some of the commentary.

     I went to middle and high school in #Tehran but never graduated because of the 1979 Revolution. We were one of the handful of families who had multi-year contracts rather than the typical one or two.

     I'm in a number of online groups for those who lived there at the time, and so when I see posts from people who were only there for a single year, it should not be surprising — and yet: I'm so taken aback by how many of them have Very Strong Opinions and Sudden Expertise in Iranian politics. #Iran
