      @green@mk.absturztau.be I believe this command lists the userland implementation, not the C standard library.

      @green@mk.absturztau.be You made me curious so I installed a Chimera FreeBSD/Linux container and it reports itself as "Linux", unlike my host machine's Debian install which lists "GNU/Linux".

      I personally think it should be reporting FreeBSD/Linux in the case of Chimera because that's the userland it is using, but the Chimera devs are probably to blame for that.

      @green Even if you compile GNU coreutils with the inferior musl instead of glibc, it will output GNU/Linux correctly - after all, glibc is only one GNU package; https://gnu.org/software

      @SuperDicq @green It printing "GNU/Linux" would be correct.

      As I pointed out before, just because you use the NonFreeBSD coreutils and a few libraries, while using far more GNU software, doesn't make it NonFreeBSD.
