I don't know how I feel about non-leftists throwing away power when things are frustrating, but Levin is just losing his mind

@sickburnbro No one cares what trump or levin are saying. They are the same credibility level as CNN at this point. They're swamp trash.

@Mammal but that's what I'm saying - you *should* care; not because his opinions are worth listening to; they aren't - but because it implies how upset he is.

@AsukaNeko @BroDrillard the problem is that the average conservative has been under the impression that the entire system is NOT rotten and that "electing a few of the right people" will fix things.

@BroDrillard @sickburnbro Tea Party and MAGA were both full of WILL when they did not have the ABILITY and empty of WILL when they had the ABILITY.
All talk and no walk.

>Mark Levin
MAGA got infiltrated and destroyed just like the TEA party before it.

@AsukaNeko @BroDrillard I don't know what it was like then, but I assume there was a much bigger belief in that. I don't think 2016+ was assuming "we'll just elect the RIGHT GOP guy!" there was a definite "we will burn this down if we need" feeling to large enough group of people.
I'm sure your average conservative still felt like the 2002 or whatever stupid idea though

@sickburnbro @BroDrillard Yep, maga is duplicating tea party and expecting different results

@Bunsen @AsukaNeko @BroDrillard If you guys were deceived, it was just yourself doing it. He was like a few votes away from being removed from office.
The only more outside he could have gotten would have been to get removed, then who is running things? Pence.
What he achieved was way less than everyone hoped for sure - but it was needed to show just what the situation was.

@AsukaNeko @sickburnbro @BroDrillard Same. We were all deceived.
Lord, forgive us. 🙏

@sickburnbro @BroDrillard I think Trump did bring in some fringe dwellers just being a novelty. I know I fell for it in 2016 thinking Washington outsider would not play by the debilitating rules.
But that vote was against Clinton, not for Trump because I could not bear the thought of that cackling bitch hag on tv for 4 years.

@AsukaNeko @Bunsen @BroDrillard all you need to do is look at things like who the GOP is running for governer in Ohio, the shit the GOP governor in like Kansas or something said - and ask questions about say, immigration
The fact that Thune is the majority leader should be enough to say "at least half of the GOP senate would stab Trump in the back at the drop of a hat"

@sickburnbro @Bunsen @BroDrillard A conviction and removal requires a two-thirds majority Senate vote.
they did not have anything near to 67 votes

@AsukaNeko @Bunsen @BroDrillard it's worse. He's the best the conservatives have and like 25% of them want to slit his throat so "we lose for 8 years and then people will do what I personally want"
It's like I've mentioned - there are still liberals in south africa. There is no "Step 1. Lose, Step 2. ??? Step 3 . Win" unless you have atomic level precision in step 2, it's just a tantrum of "I'm not getting what I want, so I'm going to destroy everything"
And hey if that's what happens, it's what happens, but I'm not going to sit here at let people think they're actually going to win. They just want to lose.

Trump is a net negative for the reds now.

@AsukaNeko @Bunsen @BroDrillard the whole amnesty with Reagan is the first example I can see of that where they put in laws which got flashy headlines and then did nothing

@sickburnbro @Bunsen @BroDrillard Would not be the first time they wanted to lose.
McCain/Palin was taking a dive.

@AsukaNeko @Bunsen @BroDrillard my theory is that since at least Nixon the GOP has had a playbook that involves massive losses in order to allow their voters to "get revenge" on them for not doing what the voters asked. That way they could keep their donors happy and make their voters happy when they did stupid symbolic shit when they "got back in power"
