     I also underestimated the amount of potting medium I needed so the smallest division (by roots and rhizomes) went into a small pot. I might need to slip pot it later, not sure yet. Preparation of the medium takes a couple or so days and I wrote about it here: https://layer8.space/@chillicampari/116194190908058977

     Many of the flying insects around here know how to navigate the pitchers, drink the nectar and not fall in. When it gets really busy later in the season I check the pitchers for any that did and use a chopstick so they can climb out. And when it warms up some more, spiders will find a nice pitcher, move in and just live there.

     A sleepy wasp or bee came by and wanted sugar so I cut off a pitcher for it. I moved it to the greenhouse shortly after this pic so it could warm up and it later flew away at normal speed.

     The roots were really compacted so I used a kabob skewer and my fingers to loosen and detangle them.
