@lizzie honestly I really wish more churches would just offer theology classes. Like not just to converts and kids but just for people in the Parish. Cuz let's be honest, most cradle Christians are not catechized well. The Epicopal cathedral I've been to a few times actually does this after the Church service which I think is very based and is something every Church should do. -

@lizzie and so many people aren't even taught about the sacraments. Like 60% of Catholics in the US don't even believe the Eucharist is truly Christ. Honestly it wouldn't surprise me if some of that was chalked up to poor catechesis. I think a problem in a lot of high church traditions is that people treat it as more of a "cool family tradition" rather then, uh, literally eating God and being a member of the kingdom of heaven. georgia likes this. -

@luce-anon i think memorialism actually doesnt reduce the number of questions, it just makes it feel less weird. like, if i made everyone eat lizzie cakes at my funeral that would be kinda crazy. i will say that even a memorialist perspective taught me a lot in the past though. its a reminder that we crucified christ.

@luce-anon also this reminds me of the evil church i was at where only women could do classes on christology and stuff bc the teacher was a woman and women couldnt teach men.
