     We had an event at work once where the fire alarms went off and the girl in the back didn't even hear it because of the fans and AC luckily we went and got her. But that place had halon.

     It really is amazing to work in a place where someone has done the math and determined that saving the equipment should take precedence over saving you, when it really comes down to it.
