What the heck does "No release received" mean? I was doing local testing on my G4 and it was failing with this error. Then I looked over to the G3 running the live chat server and it's showing the same error.

Mac84 ?
@kalleboo EEP! FYI - it looks like this latest release doesn't play nice with System 7.6.1. with MacTCP 2.0.6. This happens when you select File > Connect

Well the server hard-froze.
Before reconnecting to #GlobalTalk Chat, please update to version "1.0.8 Release 2"

@mac84tv Hmm, weird. It works on older systems, and newer systems. MacTCP shouldn't make any difference since it only uses AppleTalk.
If you have spare time (huge ask), I could get debug information if you (1) installed MacsBug (2) ran the version with debug symbols (in BaroNet:landisk:Junk Bin), and when it crashes run “sc7" in macsbug and take a picture 🙇♂️

Mac84 ?
@kalleboo I'd love to but MacsBug v6.x doesn't seem to like my set up on QEMU (System 7.6.1). I get this immediately upon startup. 😩

@mac84tv When I was testing in Snow to fix the program working on black and white Macs, I had to downgrade Macsbug to 6.2 for it to work, the later versions would just freeze up the emulated machine… I've never had good luck with debugging stuff in emulators, i'd often crash QEMU itself!
(anyway right now the chat server is frozen again and I'm not home right now so it'll be an hour or two before it gets restarted)
