Is there a GitLab issue somewhere for #Gnome search, after I think 15 years of opening the file you searched for directly, now just opening the folder and marking the file instead in the latest Gnome 50 beta?

I am curious about if this is a bug (on my system or on all systems) or a feature, and if it is a feature what the discussion and arguments for and against the change have been.

    Thanks!

@forteller I literally cannot parse that description. Care to give more context?

@ebassi Thank you for asking! In the Activities overview you can search for files and folders. Up until about ~2 months ago when searching for a folder and hitting enter Files would open that folder and when searching for a file that file would be opened directly in the application set as your default for that filetype. But now, on my Gnome OS PC at least, both actions just opens Files. If you hit enter on a file in the search the folder with that file is opened, and the file is marked/selected
