I don't use blocking a lot on Mastodon, but it's incredibly satisfying to preemptively block anyone I find whining that reply controls, actually-functional reply-severing block functionality, etc. would be infringing on their freeze peach. On the off chance that they'll someday be trying to read a thread I'm in and have it broken and unreadable to them.
