@takao @Goalkeeper That's magnetic-core memory and not a HDD.
The ferrite cores and the IC's on those boards are absolutely proprietary, even though the wires are routed by hand.
Magnetic-core memory really has quite poor density and speed, so it's not useful anymore.
Maybe the future will be fabbing 10²³ SRAM bits on GNU/Fab (data retention via a fat lead-acid or LiFePO₄ battery attachment). -
