@Jirikiha @klausfiend @lauren I do not know of any home birth mother who did not get a birth certificate for their child. There are plenty of women who choose to have home births instead of going to the hospital (either due to cost or trust issues with the local hospitals).

All of them get birth certificates for their kids. This is not a major issue.

@ariaflame @Jirikiha @klausfiend @lauren In my entire life, amongst all of the female relatives, friends, neighbors, work colleagues, etcetera, who have given birth, I can confidently say 100% of them have obtained birth certificates for their kids.

Women are far better at making sure they have the necessary paperwork for their kids than us guys, & obtaining a birth certificate is something they always do.

@ariaflame @Jirikiha @klausfiend @lauren 7,000 over a 23 year period amongst hundreds of millions is very low. That is approximately 304 a year, out of 3.6 million annual US births. That is not even a tenth of a percent.

So yeah, the vast majority (& every mother I have encountered) obtain birth certificates for their babies.

@darnell @Jirikiha @klausfiend @lauren About 7000 babies were not registered by their mothers from 1999 to 2022 and either abandoned or given up. Others in religious sects/cults don't necessarily register them because if they're not planning to send them to school, why bother indicating their existence and bringing the interest of authorities?

@ariaflame @Jirikiha @klausfiend @lauren Basically folks who do not have birth certificates are extremely rare. I was stating everyone I have encountered has one, & every woman I have encountered in life obtained a birth certificate for their kids.

@darnell @Jirikiha @klausfiend @lauren I didn’t claim otherwise, but you were claiming all. Counter example disproved that.

@lauren @ariaflame @Jirikiha @klausfiend Yep. Which is why we can order new ones from our respective birth state.

@darnell @ariaflame @Jirikiha @klausfiend Many people have COPIES of birth certificates, having long ago misplaced the originals. Only later do they find out that for most purposes the copies are useless. Many don't even have copies they can locate. As people go through life all sorts of stuff gets lost.
