@binarydigit I've been using my jellyfin as my main music player. and it's making care about music again haha I have Qobuz for discovery, but I barely use it! Love curating my own library :)
@binarydigit I have an alternative! Get a refurbished iPod! I have one and it's awesome. Yes, it was steep in price, but it has a new battery and flash memory!
@binarydigit I’ve seen iPods are becoming a popular route to go down again recently, especially with the mods you can do with some of the generations of the Classic model. I think it was from gen 5 to 7 specifically.
Expanded storage with micro SD cards, bigger batteries due to having more internal space now there’s no need for a HDD, USB-C port, Bluetooth etc. I think there’s even a mod to add MagSafe charging.
I think there’s also alternative software that can be used to replace the iPod’s OS so you also don’t have to rely on iTunes either.
Might be worth looking into as then you don’t have to worry about out of date iOS software eventually making apps unusable.
I’ve also been having fun restoring old iPods. I need to blog about the little offline music nook my wife and I made with one of those and a record player.
