   copyright licenses don't regulate the right to run the software because that's outside the scope of copyright, and so are reading, listening and watching. copyright maximalism has made plenty of people believe otherwise, but that doesn't make licenses that rely on such false beliefs worth the bytes they're written with.

     TIL from a fosstodon guy that if something is “free” it’s implicitly “for everyone” and honestly if we can’t carve out an exception for fascists we shouldn’t be doing free labor for them, and fuck the free software movement.
