Last night I installed a QSFP-40G-PLR4 module in my switch with an MPO to 4x Duplex LC breakout cable to split it into four independent 10G connections.

  @ryanc This is the way. 40G breakouts are way cheaper per port than 10G stand alone things.
  Minus the cost of the breakout cables...
