   The new server, Journa.host, is a sinking ship. It is being increasingly blocked by other instances, you can’t do your job as a journalist if you can’t see the rest of the Fediverse/Mastodon.

   Switch to a professional journalism server, Newsie.social, where the Admin @jeff, respects the culture of the Fediverse & the strength of diversity.

     @admin Not a journo and I think that's a great idea.

     ALSO I think it would be awesome for journalists on Mastodon to encourage their companies and organizations to create their own instances for their affiliated journalists. It verifies identity and would foster the growth of media presence here in a more coordinated way.

     Best to go directly to the source of that above article to ascertain the current number of servers blocking Journa.host: @mathewi

     But also add one more, tonight Mastodon.tech will join the #Fediblock in also blocking Journa.host in solidarity with oppressed communities as @lawremipsum more eloquently said below:

     “Yeah this is also troubling to me. It [journa.host] drove a trans voice off their server, in exactly the way that weaponized civility harms members of other oppressed communities. They’ll likely keep doing it because it’s baked into their worldview.”

     @admin Is there a source that documents which 45 servers blocked Journa.host? The article you link to reports there are 45, but the article does not site a source for that information. Also, the reporter who wrote the article has an account on Journa.host.

     @admin worth noting that the number is almost certainly an undercount because it comes from a tool with a flawed methodology.
