   @enigmatico@mk.absturztau.be What tech companies hope is going to happen instead is that people will only buy very crappy hardware and use them as thin clients to do all of their computing on their servers instead, forever giving away all of your freedom.

     @Suiseiseki@freesoftwareextremist.com @enigmatico@mk.absturztau.be I mean of course we have come a long way from the type of computers we used to have from back when most actual computing had to be done on your organization's mainframe.

     @SuperDicq @enigmatico Ironically proprietary software is so bloated that every crappy thin clients have quite good performance.
     
     Now only if such hardware wasn't handcuffed.
