Occasionally, someone takes issue with me flagging a data breach as "sensitive" such that the email addresses can't be publicly searched because they want to dox the users. That's a *really* bad idea, for many reasons: https://www.troyhunt.com/who-decides-who-doesnt-deserve-privacy/
I disagree with your mischaracterization of "picking" in your attempt to divert.
That illustration is poorly done, and worse, generates visceral negative reaction in many who see it. You denigrate your post with it.
When I see a slop splash at the front of an article, I then (both subconsciously and consciously) view the article as more likely to be an attempt to trick rather than inform me.
You may want to more deeply consider the signals you're sending.
@dalias you're picking a deliberately derogatory word to deride a mere illustration rather than focusing on the actual content. It's just an image. Read the post for the content.
@troyhunt@BenAveling That's what I figured, but seeing AI slop in the illustrations raises doubt in the would-be reader's mind whether the article contents might also be AI slop (whether in full or just in part).
@troyhunt I'm telling you that your disdain for artists and willingness to participate in exploitation of their work without their consent for the sake of a "mere illustration" that adds nothing to your actual article is making me (and probably most others on the fediverse) not want to read your article. You could just, like, not do that.
