   @dictatordave @PNS he doesn't need to cut the pipe back, this is obviously a stopgap matter because he can't get to the main valve I guess. He's decommissioned that bath tub for now. Said something about working on a furnace today so I bet his next project will be shutting off the main, getting a torch, & either replacing that elbow or resoldering it because it broke loose due to water hammer action.

     and it hurt me the whole time
     
     i'm sort of an expert in this shit
     
     why didn't he turn the fuckin water off...
     
     also his valve puts him out of alignment for the mixing valve because he didn't cut the pipe back enough
