   Looking at the stats, it’s clear Loops isn’t just retaining new users — they’re engaging more, especially when we ship new features.

   I'm so proud (and a bit surprised). 🥹

   A year ago: big hype + an early platform, fair criticism about the Terms of Service and missing source code.

   Today: fully open-source, better Terms, federated, a gorgeous new mobile app, and a For You feed people actually use.

     @joergi I've been working on Pixelfed too, but it isn't shipped yet.

     Keep in mind, I've spent the past 8 years working on Pixelfed almost every day.

     I took a few month break from it recently, the longest ever, to build and ship Loops.

     I haven't forgot about it though, just look at what we shipped in 2025:

     - New mobile apps
     - Federated Stories
     - Content Filters
     - Pinned Posts
     and lots more.

     2026 will be a huge year for Pixelfed, mark my words

     What you did with loops is really a great success and you can be really proud of what you shipped. I mean that 100%!

     But the cost is, that the #pixelfed community is really feeling left behind. We don't need to have new features developed, but getting rid of the bugs we are having in Pixelfed would be a great start.

     So please don't forget your pixelfed community and give the pixelfed software some of your time too.

     You already merged a lot of code but it never gets released. Why?

     @dansup @joergi the thing is that there are features not fully implemented like collections. It is weird to add new features before completing others. Nobody asked for stories for example. From 900 people I follow only 2 are uploading stories

     @hiphopheaven @joergi Collections v2 will be out soon, and you'll love it.

     We have been working on this for months, but it requires a significant frontend refactor from vue2 + bootstrap 4 to vue3 and tailwind.

     And we have to update every single page, not just the feeds, profiles or posts, the entire admin dashboard too.

     That is why it's taking longer than expected.

     When it ships, you'll forget about this and be immersed in the best fedi photo sharing experience available.

     Trust me.

     @dansup @joergi the collection improvement was just an example.My point is like what Joergi said. It is ok to have small releases with fixing some minor bugs or minor page improvements so people don't feel like the project is abondonned for months
