   Once again feeling like it's almost not worth posting to Mastodon given the degree of mansplaining that everything I put up here attracts.

   Why is it so hard to read the whole thread and/or acknowledge with a 'yes and' -- or maybe check who you are replying to/posting at? Gah.

     I'm sorry to hear you're going through this, and also sorry that you had to deal with it from someone from TechHub. As moderation, making this place friendlier and a better place to post about just about anything is a constant task, and sometimes I don't feel like we're making good strides with it. It's easy to spot and deal with the overt stuff, the people just saying racial slurs or whatever, but a lot harder to deal with things like microaggressions that can't be found through a simple search, or identified just by looking at the post.

     I want us to be better. I don't know if any of us is up to the task when it comes to this though.

     All that said, I appreciate seeing your posts, and I hope to keep seeing them in the future. We need people like you on this network, giving diverse opinions, from a place of expertise, on important topics, like all of you at DAIR post about.

     I hope we can find some way to make it better for you.

     @emilymbender @BillySmith @Raccoon Fosstodon really should be defederated at this point. They've shown again and again not just a lack of desire to moderate their abusive users, but active protection of nazis and at times even inviting them to moderation team positions.

     Do the mansplainers come from instances with un-moderated joining and un-moderated posting?

     eg. the bots and trolls that come from Mastodon.social, or the right-wing trolls from some of the FLOSS-dev instances?

     It's a PITA to deal with.
