It's a very good example pointing to what's likely to happen with the climate crisis, even if the specific mechanisms are different.

As the planet overall warms, arable regions will shift to higher latitudes with less arable land, leading to increased famine and migration. We have already seen in Sudan how this translates to war--expect it on a global scale. And as people move, pandemics will become more common.

      Excellent points.

#ClimateRefugees "Is It Time to Recognize Climate Refugees? Extreme weather now displaces around 20 million people each year, or more than 67,000 per day, yet international protection frameworks remain profoundly inadequate. Climate displacement has become a defining feature of our present. Climate shocks now shape human (im)mobility, humanitarian crises, and political debates from the Sahel to South Asia, from Pacific islands to the Americas and European frontiers. Even the International Court of Justice (ICJ) has described climate change as 'an existential threat.' In its advisory opinion on climate change, issued in July, the ICJ has made it clear that climate obligations of States are no longer aspirational but legal, substantive, and enforceable. The implications of this pivotal legal moment extend far beyond emissions and adaptions, directly addressing the growing crisis of climate displacement." https://impakter.com/is-it-time-to-recognize-climate-refugees/

"WTF? How China pushed the automotive combustion industry?"

No, OFC not, quite the opposite. --#China is *ending* the West's "century" of dominating the #CarIndustry by innovating more quickly and having almost a monopoly regarding rare earths.

(I had a lot of problems with the length of my post, thks 2 #Mastodon, and lost the remaining part of the sentence by copying, shortening, and pasting from one app to another.)
