   I find it completely plausible that we snatched maduro with minimal resistance and I also find it completely plausible that there was some kind of deal made to facilitate a coup
   
   a lot of people are assuming it *has to be* the latter because of how quick and easy it was. that's dumb

     @Kalogerosstilitis2RevengeoftheJunta @professionalbigot69 @deprecated_ii yeah, I suspected when Maduro started talking about being open to negotiations with the U.S. a couple days ago, that there was elements in his regime that would hand him over for a role in the new one.

     @Jewpacabra @professionalbigot69 @deprecated_ii It wasn't crazy. Venezuela didn't fire at the helicopters. They let them fly in land and leave. Even somalis had shot down Blackhawks.

     air defense is a lot harder than it looks in the movies. much more competent countries than venezuela have shot down their own airliners mistaking them for threats
