   Wait, I’m blanking: how does that first movie end? Frodo and Sam sneaking away, I think? Is that why the wailing?

     Every once in a while I remember how, when the first Peter Jackson LotR movie came out, Friend 1 went with other friends (“friends”?) to go see the movie.

     They’d read the books. Friend 1 had not.

     They did not warn Friend 1.

     Friend 1 had the lungs of a professional opera singer.

     When the credits started to roll, Friend 1 let out a “Nooooo!!!!” loud enough to be heard in the next theater over.
