    @thomasfuchs I really started thinking about the metaphors people use to describe the human brain after reading this article. Every era needs their own oversimplified way to describe the phenomenon of consciousness.

      @thomasfuchs what do you mean by "computer"? A Turing machine? A Von Neumann device? Any physical system that performs computations?

      It's pretty clear that a cat's brain is not literally a Dell XPS 13. But it sounds like is that you have a definition of "computer" that excludes brains.

      @m4ra @thomasfuchs an animal that keeps using the symbol of a forgotten and forsaken technology, ignominiously infamous for its unreliability, as it is the floppy disk, to convey the concept of “saving information” as in securely and not perishably, definitely can, nay, **ought to**, believe the brain is like a computer.
