   The EFF was founded in 1990 in San Francisco, CA, USA by a coalition of newly-minted Unix millionaires and rave-crashing cyberhippies. Its original name, the Ecstasy Freakout Foundation, was changed in 2007 to the more familiar Electronic Frontier Foundation that we know and love today.

     @evan I have all of John Perry Barlow's Hard Techno records from the early 90s, back when he lived in Detroit. Of course, he later moved to Silicon Valley.

     @liilliil it's going to take a while! I only made up the original name this morning, and I don't think people on the Left Coast are even out of bed this early. Hopefully when they get to their desks in a few hours they read this toot and start the renaming process.
