gah why does am/pm exist
i keep using weird operations like "addition" on times given me in this manner and end up with, like, 16am

@estelle oh yeah, the broadcasting industry in japan seems to use this convention a lot
that being said, given when i actually have breakfast usually, 16am might be just the perfect way to describe it
@whitequark my favorite of these was on niconico, promoted stream events, with graphic banners, advertising their start times at 25:30 on friday
modulo, sometimes optional
@whitequark japan has trains running at 27:00 and clubs closing at 25 o'clock, and i think this overflow time thing is a great system for those of us running a 24h period circadian rhythm but very out of phase with the sun
@whitequark wait til you hear of public transport agencies using times beyond 24:00
@ratsnakegames no that is very fine and cool
@whitequark the next big revolution in user interface will be recognizing timestamps are actually more akin to an embedded image and storing them internally as a Unix time, a timebase reference, and a humanized display type
