@geillescas If I can find the software to host, there's a 4U already doing stuff in my basement, and the vast majority of when I'd want syncing is on my lan. ...I haven't considered that for atuin in a while. Perhaps it's time to revisit it.

Syncing functionality relies on one server hosted by the author.That makes the service vulnerable to #DoS situations. Of course, you van always self-host, but not everybody can.
I believe a federated (with some replication) approach would be better suited for most #opensource services
