   I can't seem to figure out why this one machine can't get DNS, and can't ping the router. I'm connected to it over ssh, so... it's connected to the network. Confused.

     Router can't ping server.
     Ok... so... somehow, the switch is doing fine with the server, but the router and the server can't talk. This would explain DNS failures.
     How, and why, would the server not make it to the router?! That's the same connection for everything else to the router. If I can get there, the server should be able to get there

     Rebooting the switch resulted in being unable to ssh in. Wtf.

     Wait... that part makes sense. If it can't get to the router, it can't get dhcp. Rebooting the switch made it look for dhcp.

     Why the fuck can't it get to the router?!

     Ok, I'm back in via ssh. The server can't ping the router.
     The server CAN ping the switch.
     The switch is confirmed getting to the router - as that is how this post got posted.
     Router can't ping the server.

     So... why the fuck can the server and the router not talk to each other?!
     I've done over the firewalls, nothing should be blocking anything involving the server

     Home Assistant just spoke via something triggered from that server. So the server can get to my Home Assistant server. More confused.

     (What does a broadcast ping see? What does tcpdump/tshark/wireshark see on both ends?

     Ok, that's a step in the right direction. It still can't get to the internet, but fuck I am happy to see it ping the router.

     Soooo..... post catastrophe report:

     Cause:
     The link aggregation mode on the server somehow got set to a default, which is active-backup.
     The switch is configure for rr load balance.
     This made shit very unhappy. I assume the reason I could still ssh in was I'm in the same vlan, and ssh traffic is fairly small. That's my best guess.

     @nikatjef I spotted it as I was comparing the 3 MAC addresses (both individual nics, and the bond) to the tables in the router and the switch.
